If you discover the prints coming out of your Xerox AltaLink are faint, the text density is too weak, the background staining is obvious, and the toner density is not uniform across the page, it likely indicates a defective Developer Housing. This Developer Housing Unit is a component of the Xerox AltaLink B8000 and C8000 series of machines and holds and charges the developer mix (the toner and carrier), allowing for an accurate supply of toner to the drum on every print.
Replace a worn developer housing and make the blacks deep again, and the colours vibrant once more, with this Developer Housing Unit compatible with part numbers 948K13035 and 948K13034.
This Developer Housing is fully compatible with the following Xerox AltaLink models:
If your printouts appear consistently light or gray even after replacing toner, or if you see developer material leaking inside the machine, it is highly recommended to inspect and replace the developer housing unit.
| Step | Procedure |
|---|---|
| 1 | Turn off the printer and open the front or side access doors to locate the developer units. |
| 2 | Carefully disconnect any electrical connectors and release the locking levers holding the old developer housing in place. |
| 3 | Gently pull out the old unit and set it aside. |
| 4 | Unpack the new 948K13035 / 948K13034 developer housing and remove all protective packaging. |
| 5 | Slide the new unit into the printer slot until it clicks securely into place. Reconnect any electrical connectors. |
| 6 | Close the printer doors, turn the machine on, and run a few test prints or a calibration cycle to ensure proper toner distribution. |
