An electronic board that creates and controls the high-voltage charges used by the printer during the laser printing process. Most notable functions include surface charging of the imaging drum (for toner adhesion) and controlling the voltage for transferring the toner to paper. The board is not functioning if prints are faint, have an irregular scattering of toner, or have background "shading". Replacement of the board is a normal repair.
